Manitoba acts are getting ready to take over Regina next week as BreakOut West kicks off its 2016 festivities. Running October 13-16, the 14th annual event features a music festival, industry conference, and awards, as well as plenty of opportunities for emerging Western Canadian artists and music companies, to make key connections and do some serious business. 

Local acts making the trek west to showcase include several of this year's Western Canadian Music Award (WCMA) nominees as well as a number of acts making waves on the national front. Scroll down for the schedule of Manitoba showcases at the BreakOut West Festival.

This year's WCMA hardware will be handed out at a gala event on October 13 at the Casino Regina. Manitoba artists and industry earned 27 nominations in 21 categories for the celebration of music from the western provinces and territories. BreakOut West presents an incredible opportunity for emerging and established artists to be a part of the Western Canadian music community. Participating artists and other music professionals have the chance to meet key industry stakeholders, creating the opportunity for a new wave of exciting industry developments from record deals to international tours.
