Núna(now)

About

The fourth annual Núna (now) celebration of Icelandic and Canadian art, and of the ever-strengthening span between, brings a variety of culture in just about every conceivable medium to Winnipeg and Manitoba's Interlake through four weekends in May. The year's events kick off with screenings of the acclaimed Icelandic documentary film Dreamland and shows by electro-pop dance-maniacs FM Belfast. Further treats include works by visiting Icelandic artist Sara Riel; the world premiere of a multimedia piece by Svavar Jónatansson, with music by GusGus frontman Daníel Ágúst Haraldsson; the North American premiere of the startling theatrical production Humanimal; new work from performance artist Ingibjörg Magnadóttir; music from Ólöf Arnalds, Christine Fellows and others; lectures, receptions, parties and more.
