Panicland

Alternative, Pop, Punk

Panicland is a pop punk band from East Kildonan in Winnipeg, Manitoba consisting of Braedon Horbacio, Jason Cumming, and Ian Willmer, all 16 years of age. They first got together in 2007 through a music program at Marschell's Music.

Sick of a boring suburban environment and day jobs as exciting as "sign holder" - a job that consisted of standing outside the pizza joint holding a sign - the members of Panic Land turned to music as a release. This same deadening suburban background has produced seminal punk bands such as Green Day, Rise Against, and Bad Religion, who the band list as influences.

The raw, yet accomplished sounds coming from such young players attracted the attention of some Winnipeg industry folk in 2010, including Glen Willows of BCM Management (Inward Eye, Remy Shand, Ash Koley, Sons of York) and led to success in local contests including TJ’s Gift Provincial Battle, Supernova and Band on the Run. The band also impressed Manitoba Film and Music enough to award them a recording grant, one of the youngest bands to ever be given such funding.

The future holds many challenges, including 100's of shows, more (and more) songwriting, not to mention lots of life experience. But based on what they've already accomplished, Panic Land has the beginnings of a long and promising recording career and killer live show.
