Growing up in Arden, Manitoba, I never felt far from my roots. The long, dry, gravel shores of former Lake Agassiz were my playground. In a town of approximately 150 residents, you get to know your neighbours and the variety of cultures ranged backwoods horse and buggy driving dirt farmers to city folks looking to get 'back to the land'. We ended up somewhere in the middle of the mix and I was fortunate to grow up in a family that was never shy to spend time with anyone, anywhere on that spectrum. They show up regularly in my songs because they have a way of surfacing in my heart and mind.
