About Dustin Harder:

At the age of 19 with $20 and a guitar on his back Dustin Harder hitchhiked from Winnipeg busking his way to Dawson City, Yukon to pursue his grandfather’s dream of panning for gold.

When he arrived in Dawson City he found more than gold, he was hired to perform with the house band at The Westminster Hotel AKA: The Pit. After an eight-month stint of performing five nights a week he returned to Winnipeg with a tangible goal of being a full time recording and performing artist.

For years Dustin continued writing and performing solo or with various bands until finally in 2006, he formed The Dusty Roads Band and released the debut album three years later called Searchin’ for a River.

That album was nominated for an Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award for best blues album.  The single “Killin’ Time” reached No. 2 on the National Aboriginal Music Countdown and went onto license two tracks for APTN’s coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Dustin had two successful western Canadian tours with the help of grants from Manitoba Film and Music, received a lot of radio play across the country and subsequently released a single called “Hold Me Tight (I Love You)” that APTN licensed to the series Mixed Blessings.

Recently his track "Killin' Time" was chosen as the grand prize winner on Ourstage.com (www.ourstage.com/winners/2013/2) for the month of February 2013.

 Dustin Harder is ready to record new material with the help of Juno Award Nominated producer/engineer and studio owner Len Milne of Bedside Studios (www.bedsidestudios.com/photos.html)  and the likes of musicians such as:

Bassist - Jeff Smook (Brent Parkin, Rowdy Men, Duke Robillard, Rockin' Highliners)

Bassist/Keyboards/Guitarist- Sky Onosson ( The New Meanies,Scott Nolan,Dan Frechette)

Drummer - Rick Caputi (Billy Joe Green, Kristi Johnston, Kathy Kennedy)

Guests include but not limited to:

Manitoba Film and Music
FACTOR (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Records)
Manitoba Arts Council
Canada Council for the Arts 

The total costs to properly and competitively record, mix, master, manufacture, and market the album (radio/festivals/live venues) is approximately $20,000.00.

Dustin Has hired professional grant writer Jennifer Star. I have faith that we will access some of these monies via grants. However, they DO NOT cover the whole cost hence this campaign

 Pledges for his indiegogo campaign are going directly into the quality and reach of the album itself. They allow Dustin the means to book time at Bedside Studios, carefully record, mix, edit and master the album in an effort to capture and articulate it in the best way that he and his team can.

"This is the most important album to me to date and I sincerely and passionately want to make the final outcome reflect that. Beyond that, your funding will allow me to manufacture physical copies so that I can continue to tour, distribute, promote, and spread the music to as many people as possible. It is ALL going into making the best album I possibly can."

These are the estimated costs for this album:

·  $4,000 musician fees

·  $7,000 Engineer, Producer, Mixing Fees, mastering, studio time

·  $3,000 Artwork, photography, pressing costs, online fees for digital distribution

·  $4,000 - $7,000 for promotion and advertising
