"...rewriting the definition of roots music."
-Eric Thom, Penguin Eggs
"...impeccably authentic, raucously entertaining blend of gypsy jazz, zippy dixieland, viper blues and roots."
-Darryl Sterdan, Sun Media
Don't let their tongue-in-cheek name fool you, rather let their raucous live performance be a testament to their unique blend of country, dixieland, and Manitoba roots music. Over the course of our 2010-11 cross Canada touring, The F-Holes performed over 250 shows from BC to Nova Scotia. Notable performances included the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues, the Deep Roots Music Festival, the Kitchener Blues Festival and the Trout Forest Music Festival. Their second album, Angel in the Corner, was recorded at Private Ear Studios in Winnipeg, and released on August 27th, 2011. The album was #9 overall on Earshot's Folk/Roots/Blues charts for October, and was #7 overall on this same chart for September.
Back home, what a memorable show at Waterton Lakes Opera House. Thanks to Jeny, Philsner and little Gilllian for treating us so well.
