The Hoots are a four-piece indie band based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. As with many bands, there exact genre is hard to define, but they have been described as, “mellow but noisy quartet with a Jesus and Mary Chain level of distortion” (Benjiman Miller of The Manitoban). The Hoots have played a steady stream of shows since forming in 2010, and have been growing more popular since the release of their debut self-titled EP in the spring of 2011. They have toured Western Canada and will be returning to the studio this winter to record their follow up album, which will be released in 2012 on I’m Trying Records.
