MANITOBA MUSIC AT M FOR MONTREAL
Attica Riots | Thursday, Nov 19, 2:30PM at Café Campus
Cannon Bros. | Friday, Nov 20, 3:05PM at Casa Del Popolo
The busy season of market development activities continues this month as Manitoba Music heads to popular music discovery festival, M for Montreal, to present a pair of industry showcases.
Cafe Campus will host Attica Riots' sweaty dance rhythms for an afternoon set on November 19. Gearing up for the 2016 release of its debut album and profiled this month in the Manitoba Fresh spotlight, the rock outfit recently wowed audiences at BreakOut West and NXNE, and had an explosive set on Canada Day at The Forks with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
Indie darlings Cannon Bros. will bring their catchy melodies to Montreal haunt Casa Del Popolo on November 20 for an afternoon showcase. The pop/rock pair is fresh from the release of Dream City, its sophomore recording on Winnipeg-based label, Disintegration Records, which follows up its acclaimed Polaris Music Prize long listed album, Firecracker/Cloudglow.
Bringing Manitoba music to new markets and intensifying business activity in existing markets is a key component of Manitoba Music's trade and business development activities, which are funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada.
