Voldis and the melodicas is a Winnipeg band influenced by a unique blend of pop, rock, blues and rap. The group's live performance and songwriting style is reminiscent of British band's like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, while infusing musical styles of modern acts like Beck, The Black Keys, Santigold and Vampire Weekend. Kevin Forde (Voldis) is a Winnipeg singer who released his first album, "Anna Donia", in 2008. The album was co-written and produced by Winnipeg musician Micheal Glucki (The Melodicas). It continues to find airplay on local radio with a video for the song "Flashlight" airing on Canada's "Much Music" and City TV's "Ethnosonic". The pair followed up by recording the 2010 album 'The Adventures of the Zulu Surfer' under the moniker Voldis and the melodicas. It has gained high praise from various online and print publications. In support of this album Voldis and the melodicas have begun performing throughout Winnipeg, incorporating a backing band into their live act.
