About the Organization:
Portage la Prairie Folk Festival Association is a grassroots, non-profit music organization based in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. As our motto states, the members of PFFA are "forever appreciative of our local artists and musicians." We strive to provide opportunities - through the work of our two folk festivals - to support local emerging artists, as well as showcase the talent of these artists in Portage la Prairie and area to promote culture, music, and arts in our community. Our small and intimate, yet nevertheless energetic, folk festivals - Hot Blizzard Folk Festival (February) and Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival (August) - are inclusive and affordable to everybody, offer diverse musical styles in each and every line-up, and focus primarily on featuring the growing, lesser known artists from right here in Portage la Prairie, as well as throughout Manitoba.
