About

This workshop will focus on the development of musical vocabulary and rhythmic stamina. Jason will begin by discussing musical theory to help participants build a vocabulary to better communicate their ideas when working with other musicians. The second part of the workshop will focus on cross rhythms and straight beat patterns, using common and not so common time signatures. The use of polyrhythms will be explored and broken down step by step. Rhythmic variation will be stressed when trying to write music that piques a listener’s ear.
