About

Each October, the Manitoba Arts Network produces its annual Showcase Contact event. This year, the City of Winkler will host delegates from community arts and cultural organizations from all parts of Manitoba for a weekend of performance showcases, visual and literary arts programs, workshops, seminars and more....

The Manitoba Arts Network has programmed a series of workshops and seminars around the theme of “The Business of Show Business”, designed to address issues surrounding the delivery of cultural programming that are common to all of us. The program includes a partnership with Manitoba Music in a hands-on training workshop for theatre sound and lighting technicians to be held at the PW Enns Centennial Concert Hall.

In today’s market place, the jobs of the sound technician, stage manager, and lighting technician are increasingly becoming one and the same. Knowing how to skillfully perform these duties will significantly increase one’s knowledge base and opportunities for employment. The training program will be delivered by experienced industry professional Martin Hebert to a small group of participants who will learn skills to further increase their market potential and benefit their community programming organizations.
