This workshop will be a discussion of the issues facing artists, managers, and booking agents wanting to break into the UK touring market. Topics will include booking shows, with or without a booking agent, advancing and managing tour logistics, promoting your shows to local media and radio, and all other aspects of having a successful junket to the British Isles.



Charles Kennedy is the managing director of Invisible Hands Music and is also a musician of many years experience. He produces bands and plays a multitude of instruments, both as a session musician and as a solo artist. Charles is visiting Winnipeg fresh from organizing and overseeing the British presence - showcases, panels, networking events, and marketing - at NXNE in Toronto. Invisible Hands Music is an artist-friendly independent label distributed in the UK by Universal, and around the world by indies, including Fab in Canada, Dock in Spain, MGM in Australia and Excellent Records in Japan. Their artist roster includes new talent such as Silver Sun, Birds Of Wales and Rob Reynolds; and established legends such as ex Strangler Hugh Cornwell, Hazel O'Connor, Emerson Lake And Palmer, and Mick Karn.
