About
Copyright is at the centre of creative work and has legal, financial, and moral implications. This workshop will get at the heart of copyright issues for musicians, producers, songwriters, and record labels. The panel will discuss the different copyrights that exist for music and how copyright is shared and applied in different situations. If you are a musician who is co-writing songs, a producer developing an artist, a record label owner producing a project, or anyone involved in the business of creating music, this workshop will help answer some complicated questions.
Jordan Jacobs is an experienced entertainment and media lawyer from Toronto. He has worked with Jesse Cook and Inward Eye, as well as several Manitoba artists.
Chris Burke-Gaffney has spent over 15 years working in artist development and record production, with artists including Chantal Kreviazuk and McMaster and James.
