Daniel Guezen
Treaty 1 Territory Winnipeg MB Canada

Bartley Knives is Daniel Guezen, a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Winnipeg (on Treaty 1 Territory). Inspired by the guitar stylings of M. Ward, Sarah Harmer and Shotgun Jimmie, he is an entertainer foremost, a guitarist second and a singer when something needs to be said. A songwriting member of bands like Sibyl, The Vangoras and formerly one half of The New Wild, Bartley Knives is a solo project dabbling in a variety of genres and volumes. In no way does he work for the CBC, but as the saying goes, any press is good press.

In May 2018 he released his debut single, "Mocking Birds", along with a music video (featured below) by his brother, Sean Guezen (Sun Gaze, The Rec Room). "Mocking Birds" deals with imposter syndrome, not only within the music industry but also in personal relationships. This single is the lead track off his forthcoming EP, "Lone Goose", which will be released summer 2018 on New Wild Records. Recorded by Jeffrey Patteson at Home Street Recording Company, it features six songs that were recorded and mixed over the last year by Daniel and Jeff in the West End where they both reside.
