About

Beatox (Adam Fainman) is a beatboxer, lyricist, rapper, and producer based from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Described as a mix of hiphop, jazz, and funk, the music has a chill vibe that still makes you want to get on your feet, sing along and dance. His catalogue includes multiple albums: A Musical Mind: Take One (2020), Beatox Experiment (2021), and several singles. Living My Life (2019), Don't Be Afraid (2020) featuring Jaywood (Canada), Freekind (Europe), Jusso (Toronto), Beep Beep (2022), Escape With You Tonight (2023), and most recently Dance (2023) with local jazz/rock band, Apollo Suns.  

Beatox is currently working on several projects set to release over the next year.  One stand out album from that collection receiving a Canada Arts Council grant, is with singer/songwriter, Rachel Kane (Beatox's mom) which is set to release in Fall 2024.  His other projects you can expect to see are: In The Loop, Moonlite Vol. 1, and Rhythmic Odyssey.  

Beatox’s adaptive sound has brought him front of a variety of audiences, including the Slovenia's Lent Festival and Jazz MaMlade, Croatia's Jazzica Festival, Winnipeg New Music Festival presented by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Winnipeg's Nu Sounds Series, the International Winnipeg Jazz Festival, Winnipeg Fringe Festival, Shine On Festival, Canada Day and Culture Days at the Forks, and more... 

He has received grants for his songwriting and producing from the Canada Arts Council, Manitoba Arts Council, and Manitoba Film & Music.  As well, Beatox received his Masters in Music Technology from the University of Toronto where he received the Globalink Research Award for his work in beatboxing production.  He also has a degree in Digital Media and Design from Red River College and a BSc in Applied Computer Science from University of Winnipeg. 

The album he is most proud of is "A Musical Mind: Take One" which is both a musical and visual experience produced by Fainman, which showcases his wide range of audio/video abilities and various techniques for beatboxing while exploring mixing genres including electronic, jazz, classical, hip-hop, spoken word, and folk.
