About
YES WAVE presents. . .
Ivory Waves
Ivory Waves' relaxing but danceable dream-funk sounds as if D'Angelo was born in River Heights and spent waaaay too much time on the internet. Brett Ticzon's soulful vocals float over Jason Aniceto's vicegrip-tight drumming and Jesse Scanlon's elastic bass grooves, while the chiming and charming guitar licks supplied by Brett and rhythm guitarist Mitch Gulay interlock to round out their uniquely smooth sound. For fans of R Kelly, Homeshake and good times.
Mammoth Graveyard
Mammoth Graveyard is the weak, nonathletic music-child of Andrew Vifflanzoff, Bryn Rieger, and Eric Dugas. The tonal equivalent of an Aero bar left in a sauna, MG are equal parts intellectual brow-beating, contrived Slowdive ripoff, and earnest try-hard students of all the loud, slow, music that makes your family worry about you but at least its better than that Cloud rap phase.
Paul Currie
With folky ballads whose melodies range from mellow to melancholy, Paul Currie will put a blush on your cheeks and a tear in your beer. Also it's his birthday so feel free to share your tear-beer with him.
