About
A concert of new music celebrating traditions from around the world and from Manitoba, featuring soprano Sarah Jo Kirsch, a stellar string quartet and a top ensemble of Winnipeg’s best musicians. Isadora Zebeljan’s passionate New Songs for Lada for voice and string quartet is influenced by music from Serbia. Folk Music by New York’s Judd Greenstein blends folk-dance-inspired minimalism with an electric-guitar-driven jazz feeling, in what he calls “post-classical” music. There will also be new music by Montreal's Gabriel Dharmoo and Winnipeg bamboo flute virtuoso Xiao Nan Wang, as well as by Vivian Fung and Jim Hiscott. Curator: Jim Hiscott
