About

On June 30th, Osborne Street will close at approximately 6:00 pm. The Festival site begins to emerge within hours for a fully functioning patio, entertaining, eating and shopping experience. From 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm the festival draws crowds of thousands to enjoy the best neighbourhood in the City.

On July 1st, Canada Day the Main Stage kicks off with opening ceremonies at 11:00 am. Aboriginal drumming groups, marching of the flags by our local veterans will open the day. The singing of our national anthem followed by the Happy Birthday song will be heard for miles as our dignitaries cut the Giant Canada Flag Birthday Cake. Over four hundred pieces of cake will be handed out to festival goers.

Embracing Canada’s cultural mosaic, and Canada 150 this year’s festival will feature a Main Stage featuring local and National talent, hand-craft market place, Movie Night under the Stars, extended patios, live music stages, Skyzone Family Area, Fashion shows, Drag shows, dog show, Adventure Zone, culture dancers including Aboriginal drumming, and much more!

Festival Programming

The Festival transforms the existing Osborne Village into an exciting atmosphere beginning at River and Osborne and are comprised of Osborne Street from River Avenue to McMillan Avenue.

The local businesses liven up the street and create Winnipeg’s largest street festival. Family-fun, young at heart, foodie, folkie, foot-stomper, whatever you are seeking, the festival is action packed and there’s something for EVERYONE!

Village BIZ Main Stage
New this year, a large concert style stage will be located in the heart of the Village at Stradbrook and Osborne for the first ever main stage. Local and national entertainment will be featured on the all day stage. Canadian Headliner to be announced to end of the night on Canada Day!

Family Fun Zone
Featuring a large petting zoo, pony rides, inflatable bouncers, obstacle courses, children’s entertainers, giant hamster ball obstacle course, face painting and much more.

Movies in the Village
New addition this year. On Canada Day we will be showing a family feature film at 7:00 pm in the Family Zone. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, lay out on the grass and catch the film!

Hand Craft Market
The hand craft marketplace features local crafters, artsists and makers. The market is a world of unique had made and vintage items.

Street Side Shopping
Osborne Street stores, shops, and boutiques extend their store fronts out onto the street, for an outdoor shopping experience. Incoming vendors will be additionally set up selling everything and anything for everyone!

Flavors of our Culture
Food vendors serving a variety of food from European to Latin and Caribbean including Jerk Chicken to Empanadas will be featured in the Flavors of our Culture Food Courts. An array of juices, water, traditional favorites, lemonade and icy snow cones will cool summer thirsts.

Family Picnic Zone
New this year, a grassy picnic area fitted with picnic tables and water refill stations will be located near the food trucks and restaurants for a relaxing space to eat, and cool down.

Adventure Zone
NBA Basketball Courts, Baseball Dunk Tanks, Football throw and the Snap Fitness Bootcamps. These Advetures will challenge people of all skill levels!
