About

Free, outdoor community event with a huge mainstage, a community feast and interactive art programming.

This event will reanimate our two main murals from 2016, “Mending,” and “Aqua Lungs” in the parking lot of The Winnipeg Vineyard. With the Red Bull Tour Bus as our mainstage, we will be hosting local music heroes Super Duty Tough Work, who will be collaborating with the youth they mentored through the Wall-to-Wall x Graffiti Art Programming Mentorship Program. Our headliner will be DJ Shub, formerly of A Tribe Called Red, performing alongside shawl dancers and break dancers. This event also serves to launch to The Rainbow Trout Nuit Blanche Bike Jam, which will attract a large critical mass of cyclists to The North End.

6:00 PM: Hotdog BBQ
6:30 PM: Faouzia
7:30 PM: Super Duty Tough Work X Studio 393
8:30 PM: DJ Shub
9:30 PM: Rainbow Trout Music Festival Bike Jam departs

DJ SHUB: DJ Shub, formerly of A Tribe Called Red (but not a founding member), is a title earning DJ, award winning music producer, and devoted family man from Six Nations of the Grand River. His PowWowStep EP picked up an Indigenous Music Award for Best Instrumental Album in May of 2017; the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities (COCA) named him DJ of the Year in June of 2017; and, his music video for “Indomitable ft. Northern Cree Singers” picked up a nomination for Best EDM/Dance Video at the 2017 Much Music Video Awards.

SUPER DUTY TOUGH WORK: Since forming in early 2015, Super Duty Tough Work has quickly established itself as the region’s premier live hip hop outfit. Fronted by Brendan Grey (aka Giant #3 of Sleeping Giants) and backed by some highly skilled local and international musicians, SDTW is an eight-piece powerhouse. The group sees itself rooted in the traditions of hip hop’s golden era, yet always fresh, remaining informed by today’s sounds. Grey’s lyrics are that of a well-schooled writer. His witty, informed, rhythmic “get loose style” sees him comfortable either rocking the party or dropping jewels, perfectly balancing out the oral portion of the group.

SDTW will be collaborating with Studio 393 throughout August and September and will be perorming their works on Nuit Blanche.

FAOUZIA Born in Morocco and raised in the rural town of Carman, Manitoba, Faouzia is a singer, songwriter, and a serious force to be reckoned with. Combining catchy pop rhythms, heartfelt lyrics and powerhouse vocals, this young sensation could make Adele blush.
