As an extension of the current show “Floe Edge: Contemporary Art and Collaborations From Nunavut”, Urban Shaman Gallery is excited to present singer Nelson Tagoona, (Baker Lake, Nunavut) during the celebrations of Nuit Blanche from 10pm to 11pm.

Nelson Tagoona, a one-of-a-kind musician best known for his inspirational messages and his unique blend of vocal percussion and traditional Inuit throat singing called “throat boxing”. This powerful performance has impacted the youth and garnered Tagoona the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Floe Edge and Tagoona’s Nuit Blanche performance are presented by Urban Shaman Contemporary Aboriginal Art and Nunavut Arts & Crafts Association. A special thank you to our friends at Deer + Almond.

“Floe Edge: Contemporary Art And Collaborations From Nunavut” will not be opened during Nuit Blanche, but runs till October 14.
