About

When it was created in January 2015, the Saratoga project had to be circumstantial. The duo, Chantal Archambault and Michel-Olivier Gasse, had thought it would be good to take the road with the songs of both, but the hobby quickly took up all the place.

Armed with a guitar and a double bass, Saratoga saw Quebec in all its grandeur, with more than a hundred shows in halls, improvised broadcast venues, parks and salons.

With a mission to create a face-to-face meeting each time, it is with great sweetness to the heart that the duo has won the hearts of the public.

Their mini-album, released in June 2015, earned the honor of the folk EP of the year at the GAMIQ, and the couple won more than half of the prizes on the Rideau 2016 scholarship.

Simple and touching, their complicity awakens the senses and leads you into a comfort zone where you went out smiling, and probably in love. It's what we say.

Sarah Toussaint-Léveillé is a multi-disciplinary artist from Quebec. Self-taught, she likes to surprise and refuse labels. She dresses her skeleton of several projects, several skins. Principally a composer-composer, she is also interested in cinematographic writing and directing.

In June 2016, she made a film training in Prague, where she wrote a short film for which she was responsible for production, production and editing. His songs are imagined, mixing surrealism and realism. Her second album, Death is a Wild Garden, which she signed with Socalled, is a sincere and introspective poem, supported by soft and powerful string arrangements.

Death is a wilderness garden that receives several recognitions in 2016, such as the "Francophone Coup de cœur québécois" prize of the Académie Charles Cros in France, two ADISQ nominations (author or composer of the year, and mix of the year) and two GAMIQ nominations (folk album of the year, public award). She carries her album on stage in a quartet, minimalist and mesmerizing, with a double bass player, a cellist and a violinist, where she is accompanied on guitar sometimes acoustic, sometimes electric. Its services are often contrasted.

When a song ends and the quartet deposits its bow, the spontaneous and laughter interventions of this young artist contrast with the melancholy of its texts. It is his way of inviting his audience into the drawing-room of his head.
