About

Every Thursday Night is Music Night at The Neighbourhood!

Please see below for a list of upcoming performers.

January 18: Jack Cookson

"Jack Cookson is a singer/songwriter based in Devon, United Kingdom. Drawing influence from roots music from both sides of the Atlantic, he considers himself "Mongrel Folk". Jack has shared the stage with the likes of Ralph McTell & Franz Nicolay, and in 2016 was nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.
For this gig he has extremely limited edition handprinted copies of his unreleased new EP entitled 'Chamfer'."

January 25: Turn a Phrase

"Turn a Phrase is a local acoustic rock band consisting of Beau Turner (vocals/guitar) and Bobby Fraser (guitar/vocals). Drawing from influences such as Matthew Good and Bush, their sound draws closer to the 90's alternative rock genre."

February 1: Househand Shake

"Househand Shake are four best friends with high positive energies and a powerful message sent to you with their love of each other and music. Listen for their meaning, their harmonies and find yourself moved and asking deeper questions."

February 8: Joanna Simoens & David Liam Roberts

"Joanna Simoens is an 18 year old viola student at the University of Manitoba who enjoys performing everything from J.S. Bach to German polka. Aside from music Joanna loves thunderstorms, coffee, and poutine."

"David Liam Roberts is an active performer in Winnipeg's music scene and has performed as soloist with the Winnipeg Youth Symphony as well as the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. He has been a prize winner at several local and national competitions including the Women's Musical Club Scholarship Competition and the Canadian Music Competition. An avid recitalist, David Liam has presented six solo recitals in Winnipeg throughout the past four years. He is in grade 12 and studies cello with Yuri Hooker."

February 15: James & Jacek

February 22: Ryan Shodine & Jada

"Ryan Stanley Shodine is a singer/songwriter from Winnipeg, MB. He's gathered a variety of experience over the last ten years while playing in a band that has since broken up, and as a solo act. By playing on many stages throughout Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan he has developed a presence said to be "warm" and "inviting". Finally taking songwriting and performing more seriously, and with a library of songs that are "clever", "haunting", and "bittersweet", he's planning a debut album release in the spring of 2018."

"Jada's been performing since she was 3 for her family and friends in her parents living room. After spending this last year really focusing on her music, she's graduated to a stage. This local singer songwriter brings a variety of emotions with her
music and makes you feel them through her gentle tune and energetic vibe."
