About

This will be an incredible concert of hard-driving western swing tunes arranged for the legendary vocalist Steve Lawrence by one of the most respected writers of this generation, Marion Evans. Evans has been dubbed “the most influential musician you’ve never met”, having arranged over 100 albums for Glenn Miller, Tony Bennett, Judy Garland, Count Basie, Perry Como, Doc Severinson, Tommy Dorsey and many others, as well as for 17 TV series and 11 Broadway shows. He also received two Grammy nominations, wrote for more than 70 top 10 records, and is a member of “The Orchestrators Symposium” at the Library of Congress. Robert Young is a Winnipeg raised, Calgary based jazz crooner who will, along with the WJO, bring these arrangements to life. We will also will pay homage to the unforgettable Frank Sinatra, who passed away 20 years ago this month.
