This year’s GroundSwell guest curator is dynamic new music pianist Megumi Masaki. She has concocted a program of virtuosic delights featuring live electronics, video, flute, and cello. Compositions by Keith Hamel (with text by Leonard Cohen), Kotoka Suzuki, T. Patrick Carrabré (with text by Margaret Atwood), and Marc Estibiero push the limits of collaboration in piano performance. Brandon-based Megumi specializes in exploring how sound, image, text and movement can be integrated in multimedia works. Together with live interactive-electronics and computer music specialist Keith Hamel, her work promises to expand and re-conceptualize the concert experience.
