About
Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Johnny Coull is a rock troubadour from another era. Wielding a virtuosic style on the piano and a poignant narrative voice, Coull brings alive stories of ecstasy and heartbreak, set to a wild vintage sound.
A seasoned pianist, Coull completed the McGill Conservatory classical piano program at a young age, and later obtained his Performer's ARCT from the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music. He has performed extensively in Montreal and eastern Canada.
In 2012, Coull received a provincial grant to write and record his first solo album, and subsequently organized successful crowdfunding and presales campaigns to finance the remainder of the project. City on the Hill was recorded at Montreal's legendary Studio Victor in the summer of 2013.
