About

Wine Lips (Toronto)

In Toronto, Ontario, these days, you don’t have to google the closest Michelin-Star restaurant to get a taste of one of the finest wines available this side of The Niagara Escarpment.

Garage/Punk/Psychedelic 3-piece, ‘Wine Lips’, have been serving topped-up, Bordeaux-size glasses of their energetic, high octane, sonic tonic on the Canadian band circuit since the Fall of 2015. Fronted by vocalist/lead guitar player Cameron Hilborn, backed up on bass by Richard Stewart, and with Aurora Evans keeping beat on the drums, you can leave your Sommelier-Certification at home. all you need to bring is a pair of ears to pick up on the notes of aggressive, gritty rhythm accompanied by potent hints of catchy melody and memorable hooks that pair well with your Saturday night out.

Matt Moskal (Winnipeg)

Matt Moskal plays a fresh form of Manitoban folk. The Ontario-born troubadour mixes tried-and-true finger plucking and evocative storytelling with lively yet smoky vocal melodies. He delivers confused and compassionate truths with tact. Brutal honesty feels so sweet when it’s cushioned between soft, sentimental acoustic tones. Suited for coffee time after Sunday family meals, a waning August afternoon or those late night moments after your worst breakup.

Matt Moskal has played alongside the likes of Julie Doiron, Wax Mannequin, Spookey Ruben and Fred Penner. In 2010, he played the main stage of the 40th annual Northern Lights Festival Boreal. He has performed at and hosted stages at Northern Lights Festival Boreal, Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, DIY Homesteader Festival and Real Love Summer Fest. In 2014, he spearheaded Folk & Word at the West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg, MB, combining slam poetry with folk music. In 2017, he curated, hosted and performed at Don’t Be Scared: A Tribute to Daniel Johnston at the Good Will Social Club in Winnipeg, MB. The event was a fundraiser for the Canadian Mental Health Association.
