There are a lot of reasons to stay in Manitoba this August long weekend. There is a wealth of live music taking over stages throughout the province, including the Fire & Water Festival in Lac du Bonnet, Gimli's Icelandic Festival of Manitoba, and Rockin the Fields of Minnedosa. Plenty of local talent will hit the weekend festivals, including indie folk/pop outfit, Alanadale, which plays Fire & Water. Audiences can also catch the band at Royal Canoe's August 23 album release party at new Winnipeg venue Union Sound Hall and at the Matlock Festival of Music, Arts & Nature that same weekend. After that, the band packs up and heads west for a tour at the end of the month.
