Islendingadagurinn: it's fun to say and spell but even more fun to attend. The festival of all things Icelandic invades Gimli for four days of music, food, sports, and mayhem, July 31-August 3. This year's festival features a stellar line-up, including The Weakerthan's frontman John K. Samson, rock outfits Crosstown Rivals and The Details, legendary children's performer Fred Penner, electronica act Vitaminsforyou, and touring acts Library Voices and Royal Wood.
In celebration, we have donned our Viking helments and are offering up brand new Crosstown Rivals track, "Exits," in The Loudspeaker this week. "Exits" comes off the band's new digital release on Better Swimmers, which also features three remixes by Vitaminsforyou, Get Famous!, and DJ Co-op. The Gimli show on August 1 falls in the middle of a Canadian tour, which sees the band head to Ontario in early August after several shows out west.
