Chuck Copenace
"Arvo"

From the album EP 1

Featured track, available from October 12 to October 20

Chuck Copenace is coming off a busy summer and heading into a busy fall. The Ojibway jazz musician based out of Winnipeg has recentily hit stages for the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival, Aboriginal Day Live, ManyFest, and more after releasing his latest recording, EP 1. Copenace is no stranger to the live stage, having performed all across the country and in the U.S., including working with the likes of Moses Mayes, Burnt Project 1, Nathan, and Indian City. Copenace formed his own groove-based jazz project in 2015 to perform his original music, inspired by R'nB, funk, hip hop and Classical music. As he gears up for a new EP, he'll perform at the National Arts Centre's special Indigenous Voices Rising concert at Thunderbird House in Winnipeg on October 18, alongside Leonard Sumner, waNda wilsoN, Ila Barker, Peshanakwut, Rhonda Head, Sonia Eidse, Nikki Komaksiutiksak, Boogey the Beat, and Moe Clark. We've got a little preview for you... his new track "Arvo" is our featured song this week. Get it and don't miss your change to catch Chuck Copenace live at the Indigenous Voices Rising concert.
