The Paperbacks take over the West End Cultural Centre this weekend to release their new double CD, Lit From Within. The highly-anticipated follow-up to the indie rock quartet's 2007 release, An Illusion Against Death, is out on the Parliament of Trees label the band shares with fellow Winnipeg-based act, The Details. Lit From Within marks the first release with the band's new line-up; guitarist Kevin Andrechuk, drummer Corey Biluk, and keyboardist Kevin McLean join original members, songwriter Doug McLean and bassist/producer Jaret McNabb.
Head to the WECC on January 23 for the CD release party, which also includes an acoustic opening set by Ian La Rue. Meanwhile, grab "Stars (For Claire Massey)" from The Loudspeaker.
