Sometimes being far from everything isn't so bad. New supergroup Middle of Nowhere makes it sound downright delightful. Local luminaries Alexa Dirks (Begonia), Grant Davidson (Slow Leaves), JP Hoe, Keri Latimer (Leaf Rapids), and Rusty Maytas (Imaginary Cities), have come together to create rich melodies for a new self-titled album. Written and recorded in its entirety over eight day in the woods of Manitoba, the album was officially released on May 1. Local audiences have a rare chance to see the busy singer/songwriters all together as they hit the stage for the sold out show at The Park Theatre on June 1.
