Marcel Desilets
"Slip On Down"

From the album To Be Here

Featured track, available from September 23 to September 30

The First Annual Lesstival Festival, aka LessFest 2010, hits Winnipeg this month with an eight-act line-up of talented locals. Featuring performances by Scott Nolan, JD Edwards, Last Ditch On The Left, Adrien Sala, Lois Gillespie, Dawson Blaine, Vince Andrushko, and special guest Marcel Desilets, the event takes over The Park Theatre's stage on September 28. Proceeds from the show will be donated to a struggling local musician so they can keep playing music. Organizer Kerri Woelke, of duo Last Ditch On The Left, intends to run the event again next year, possibly with an application process to provide some financial relief for other artists. The indoor festival also boasts "less bad weather" and "less bugs," as well as "less drunken shirtless guy giving high fives." (We're not sure where  drunken shirtless guy will be, though.)

In addition to his performance at LessFest, which includes a solo set and some backing duties for the other acts, Desilets is gearing up for an upcoming release of not one but two albums of original material. He will return to The Park Theatre on November 6 with opener Lindsay Jane to launch his fourth and fifth CDs, the all instrumental Two Minute Warning and singer/songwriter album There's a Story To Tell.
