Not many independent music creators can lay claim to recording with both platinum-selling acts and Grammy nominated artists.
Enter Frost Gamble, a self-proclaimed ‘sample head’ Canadian/American Hip Hop music producer.
Born & raised in upstate New York, Frost was completely absorbed by the Hip Hop music & culture of the ‘golden era’ – and it was during that time that Frost learned the basics of crate digging and production that would fuel his sample heavy sound.
Now living in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, Frost’s production credits include work with rap heavyweights like Kool G. Rap, KXNG Crooked, Ras Kass, Tragedy Khadafi, Young Bleed, Guilty Simpson, Planet Asia, Skyzoo and many more.
In 2013, Frost’s contributions to Grammy nominated Gospel Rap artist Fresh I.E.’s Red Letterz13 were recognized with “Album of the Year” at Canada’s Gospel Music Awards.
In 2016, Frost landed a marketing and distribution deal through Sony Red / The Orchard and Hitmaker Services – leading to the critically and commercially successful “Veteran EP” with Binghamton-NY based battle rapper (and long-time friend) Tone Chop.
The momentum and promotional push this release provided lead to international radio play, European retail CD distribution, print media coverage in Europe and North America, and in-person appearances on major programs like Sirius XM’s “Rap Is Out of Control”.
Tone Chop & Frost Gamble have since released several successful singles and LPs, and continue to actively record.
Frost has produced singles and entire albums for many artists, including KXNG Crooked, Horseshoe Gang, and Tragedy Khadafi. He broke into the iTunes/Apple Music US Top 100 Hip Hop album sales chart twice in 2018.
Frost has appeared as a featured speaker at music events like A3C and Northern Touch Music Festival, presenting on music release strategies and technology for independent artists.
In 2020, Frost received a Juno nomination for his work on Fresh I.E.’s “Ill Street Blues”.
