Acoustic Light Rock Singer/songwriter


Laura is a Winnipeg-based singer/songwriter who performs and records with acoustic guitar and voice. She sings in a soulful, unique, and emotional style. Laura uses her music and lyrics as a way to fully express herself and reflect on the world around her, relationships, self discovery/exploration, and day-to-day experiences that resonate deeply with the listener. Her music is influenced by many styles including rock, folk, blues, and pop genres. She has performed around Winnipeg for the last 7 years in many venues including the Park Theatre, Ellice Cafe, Red River Exhibition, Winnipeg Free Press Cafe, and the University of Manitoba. Laura was the winner of the first inaugural UMSU's Got Talent show at the University of Manitoba, and the 2013 Driven's Got Talent competition. Earlier in 2015, she made the top 5 in the Landmark Showcase Festival in Winnipeg, and will competing in the finals on July 26th, 2015 at the West End Cultural Center.

Laura recorded her first CD of 8 original songs at Private Ear Studios in the summer of 2014, which was released on August 26, 2014 at the Park Theater. Her CD, entitled "Nothing to Prove" was nominated in 2015 for a Western Canadian Music Award for Pop album of the year.
