New Music Night is all about highlighting new local music and features three Manitoba Music members on the first Wednesday of each month. It's a great night for music fans to discover new local bands! It's an opportunity for up-and-coming artists and bands playing in ANY genre to try out new tunes and develop their live show.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS 

Yung Gio | Yung Gio is a melodic hip-hop artist and singer who likes to make people dance with his upbeat music born in the Congo and raised in the heart of Winnipeg. he creates a high energy atmosphere with his electric delivery. He inspires others to never give up on their dreams and through his emotive beats and meaningful story-driven songs. Driven by a desire to motivate, inspire, and deliver world-class production. His influences heard in his music include Drake, Jay-Z, and Chika.

Tommyphyll | What started out as an exploration of sound loops and other stock presets on an iPhone 6 plus became a multi-genre meld of sound expressions that are influenced by Hip-hop, Afrobeat, Rock, Pop, Cinematic Musical Scores, and Alternative RnB to name a few. The raw transient energy of his voice partnered with down to earth lyrics, instrumentals, and the quirky ad-libs in his music, display Tommyphyll's ability as not just a producer but as a storyteller who guides the listener on a journey of relatable reflection with exciting twists and turns. His musical influences include but are not limited to Jon Bellion, Burna Boy, Coldplay, Hans Zimmer, Juls, Asa  Fall out boy, and Kanye West. Tommyphyll's Debut Album: ART OF DREAMS  a solo project that had been in the works for a little over a year is out now in stores and on all streaming platforms. 

The Sun Runner is a 5 piece Pop/RnB Band from Winnipeg, Manitoba featuring Denae Marinelli, Addison Smith, Joel Rivard, Josh Bonneteau, and Marco Freynet. Inspired by the retro sounds of the 70s, such as Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan and the Bee Gees, they add a modern yet familiar approach to their music.
