About

This space)doxa event is a totally unplugged musical showcase featuring a diverse cross section of styles!!

Suture
Featuring Greg Hanec, and Gage + Kerrigan Salnikowski, Suture will be doing an arranged freeform set titled "That Properly Estimated Progression" which is a time/instrument "grid" (and using a clock onstage) designed by Hanec. Instruments include: cello/oboe/trumpet/french horn/various percussion/ musical saw/ bassoon and more ...ten instruments in total!

Marty Green
Marty Green is best known to Winnipeggers as the host of “Math with Marty”, the cult favorite Community Access TV show from the early 90’s. Ten years later, his country-flavored piano songs made him an early-evening favorite at the Times Change club on Main St. Recently he took up the accordion, and in 2016 put up a song a day for the entire year…366 accordion/vocal numbers in all. He is presently working around town with local chanteuse Lois Taylor. And yes, he still tutors math on the side.

Turn A Phrase
Bobby Fraser and Beau Turner, acoustic duo from Winnipeg. Our song writing has been inspired by Matthew Good, Bush, Chevelle, Deftones, City And Colour, Pearl Jam, And many more. We are also releasing our first E.P. called “the inevitable process of failure” by the end of March.

Lowercase Symphony
Designed by Sean Michael Stephensen, Lowercase Symphony involves up to 10 players using non-instruments like water/paper/golf balls/cups and more to create interesting and amusing and poignant sounds!

Marshall Birch
Marshall Birch is a gentleman who plays songs. He used to play in the Bargains and now he plays in the Buddies. Along the line he Lodged a Turd. He also plays as him. Come along with Marshall to enjoy a world of whimsy and mundanity.
