About

Our first two Throwback Thursdays shows have been incredibly successful with the most recent one; The Details & The Bonaduces; selling out! We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we will be presenting Throwback Thursdays with Tequila Mockingbird & Quinzy on Thursday, January 31st.

Tequila Mockingbird plays straight from the gut…. Sexy Rock & Roll that explodes with rhythm and energy! Tequila’s songs are a marriage of fiery rock and deep groove, to form a truly new sound somewhat familiar, but incomparable to anything else; delivered with honesty and soul. Their performance is charged with style, and raw energy that pulls the audience to its feet.

Tequila's much anticipated full-length studio alum was recorded during the 1999/2000 period. Officially released on November 17, 2000, this amazing album was recorded at De Capo Studios in Winnipeg, MB and teams Tequila’s original songwriting with Prairie Music Week and Juno nominated producer Olaf Pyttlik, and unleashes a sound that is unique in Canada. Combining the music abilities of Tequila Mockingbird with the outstanding studio techniques of Pittlyk, 'Any Shape or Form' displays the emotions, musicianship and raw energy of Tequila Mockingbird.

Quinzy are a Canadian indie rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. They have released one album and several EPs. Many of the band's songs are about Winnipeg. The band includes lead singer and guitarist Sandy Taronno, keyboardist and vocalist Jamie Taronno, bassist and vocalist Jason Pankratz, and drummer David Pankratz. Sandy and Jamie are brothers, as are Jason and David, and the Taronnos and Pankratzes are cousins.

The band originated in 2002, and were called The Good Fight, and then Sharp House Candy, before changing their name to Quinzy. Their 2006 album, Please Baby Please Baby Baby Baby Please, received a positive review in Exclaim!, noting "Riding right on the line between both American and British indie rock sounds, Quinzy find themselves with that distinctly Canadian approach to music that manages to incorporate the best of both worlds." Their 2008 EP, One Boy’s Guide To The Moon, was produced by Michael Phillip Wojewoda who is known for his work with Barenaked Ladies.

Quinzy will be performing with both past line ups of their band, one with Brian James, an original member, as well as their most recent line up.
