Iceage is Elias Bender Rønnenfelt, Dan Kjær Nielsen, Johan Suurballe Wieth, and Jakob Tvilling Pless. Beyondless, Iceage’s fourth record (and first that was recorded all-analog), was produced by the band and Nis Bysted, recorded by Mattias Glavå at Kungsten Studios Göteberg, and mixed by Randall Dunn at Avast Studios Seattle. The album was played entirely by the band with additional performances by Nils Gröndhal (violin), horns by Kasper Tranberg (trumpet), Lars Greve (saxophones) and Morten Jessen (trombone), and vocals on “Pain Killer” by Sky Ferreira.

Cairo based producer, composer and performer Nadah El Shazly really cooked up a storm last year with her first solo release Ahwar, placing her on The Wire’s list of Top 50 releases of 2017, in good company of fellow Intonal artists Ellen Arkbro, Pan Daijing and Sarah Davachi. Two years in the making, Ahwar is an otherworldly record, not unlike an abstract mythological story-tale. The title translates to ‘marshlands’ but can also mean maze, or getting lost, and Nadah El Shazly is famous for making audiences around the world losing themselves in her maze of avant-jazz, electronica and Arabic soundscapes. “If I manage to take them somewhere where they can be lost in the song, that's a big compliment”, as El Shazly told Cairo Scene.
