About
On Alex Dee’s Champagne Birthday, Kirsten and Boris Danyliuk, The Village Idiots and the Pyramid Cabaret will present Keep Shining Champagne Celebration, a Benefit in honour of Alex “Dee” Danyliuk. Proceeds from the event will go towards The Alex Danyliuk Foundation whose goal is to raise $50,000 and give out $2,200 worth of scholarships annually, over 22 years, to young people who are passionate about, and are pursuing studies in music.
The night will be hosted by The Village Idiots and features close to 40 local musicians including The Revival, a special Champagne All Star Band, Wreckin 'So, The Simpletones and the Max Osawa Jazz Ensemble. We will also have a 'tweener microphone set-up" by the bar with Jamie Buckboro, Matt Zelich, Curtis Newton and Bobby Desjarlais performing during main stage change overs.
Advance tickets available on The Pyramid web site, from The Village Idiots or Boris/Kirsten Danyliuk
The Alex Danyliuk Story: Alex was a passionate drummer, musician and founding member of Winnipeg band The Revival. Alex passed away on April 12, 2013 at the age of 22 while jogging through Vimy Ridge Memorial Park. Alex had Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, an extra electrical pathway in his heart that causes arrhythmias and tachycardias. Alex died from Sudden Cardiac Death due to WPW before he could be treated. Alex's 28th Champagne Birthday would have been on Feb. 28th, 2019. Keep Shining!
