In our ever-changing technological world, local band Deuxième Take offers a change of pace. Comprised of Denise Allard on vocals, Mathieu Reimer on piano (replaced on this occasion by Claude Bellefeuille), and Guy Ferraton on harmonica and spoons, the trio brings a family-friendly energetic alternative of mostly traditional songs en français - including some which are hundreds of years old!

Since starting out a dozen years ago, Deuxième Take has remained true to tradition and has gained a faithful following of all ages in Winnipeg, including one at Sam’s Place a few years back, as well as in rural Manitoba… even a 3-week tour of south-eastern France in 2008.

The live Deuxième Take spirit is captured on 3 CD albums : Vive la compagnie, Dans nos vieilles maisons, and C’est comme ça que ça s’passe. On May 4th at Sam’s, Denise and Guy will be joined by singer-songwriter and good friend, Claude Bellefeuille. On this occasion, Claude will also treat us to a solo set.
