Jacques Hétu was one of Canada’s leading composers and his Légendes, composed in 2008 is a festive work exploring three different Quebec legends. César Franck’s Symphony in D minor was a landmark French composition, with themes that return throughout as transforming characters in a play and a memorable English horn solo in the slow movement. We welcome the eminent Swiss conductor Matthias Bamert to our stage as our guest.
