The sākihiwē festival and the North Point Douglas Women's Centre (NPDWC) are working together to present blues legend Billy Joe Green, Inuit throat singer Nikki Komaksiutiksak, singer/songwriter Gabrielle Fontaine, the Southern Thunderbird Medicine Drum, and artists from Studio 393 at the Austin Street Festival on Friday, August 2. The free concert and community celebration begins at noon and everything is on Austin Street between Euclid Avenue and Selkirk Avenue in Winnipeg.

The one-day festival will also include a free BBQ, a dunk tank, games for kids, and a prize draw at the end of the concert. 

Aboriginal Music Manitoba (AMM) has been working with the NPDWC to take music to families in Point Douglas since the summer of 2015.

AMM would like to acknowledge North End Revitalization Incorporated, the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Manitoba Arts Council, and the Winnipeg Arts Council for their financial support of the sākihiwē festival's outreach concert series.
