Described as “one of the best, most imaginative and musical of the trombonists of his generation” (Philip Elwood, San Francisco Examiner), and understood to be one of the top trombonists, composers and producers in jazz today, Jazz Winnipeg announces that Delfeayo Marsalis & the Uptown Jazz Orchestra will perform at the Park Theatre on Friday October 18. This show is presented in partnership with the Park Theatre and the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra.
"This show is going to be a celebration of New Orleans - bubbling over with life and love of music,” says artistic director Michael Falk. “We're excited to bring one of the mighty Marsalis family back to Winnipeg - this new project from Delfeayo is something else, and we're glad we can bring it to Winnipeg audiences."
Juno and WCMA nominated duo Erin Propp and Larry Roy will open the show.
