Fresh off the success of this summer’s Immersion tour and today’s album release, Close Talker will return to Winnipeg on Wednesday November 27 to perform at the Good Will Social Club, presented by Jazz Winnipeg.
Considered by the band to be their strongest and most confident album to date, "How Do We Stay Here?" is now available worldwide through Slow Weather (NA) and Sinnbus (EUR).The record is self-produced, and was recorded over the course of 2018 in Regina, SK.
The album “is about trying to wrestle with time,” the band says. “It's about trying to learn from experiences, trying to keep perspective, trying to progress in this weird world, and sometimes trying not to progress at all; to sit in a moment and soak it in for all it has to offer before it becomes nothing more than a memory. This album is us navigating through the past two years, through both the good times and the bad, and holding on to those times for as long as we're able."
Always striving to innovate and establish their own path, Close Talker premiered North America’s first ever 3D - 360 degree silent headphone concert series this summer. In early August, the band performed an extraordinary and intimate show at the Burton Cummings Theatre to a sold out crowd. For the performance, the band and audience shared the stage together with the group performing their newest album front to back and the audience listening through headphones. The show utilized real-time 3D mixing, putting each listener in the middle of the band, hearing instruments and voices swirling around them. The full tour was met with great response, with almost every show selling out esteemed galleries, theatres and art institutions across Canada.
