About

Coleman Hell’s rise to success has been an exciting one to watch. Hailing from Thunder Bay, Hell has a knack for pushing the boundaries of existing pop frameworks and delivering memorable choruses to boot. Anchored by his inspiring and unorthodox approach, Hell has forged a prolific reputation as an adventurous outlier with a diverse palate.

Hell has transformed from an underground musician who released songs online to an award-winning artist with a major-label deal. Blending EDM programming with banjo distinct vocals, his mix of old-school and cutting-edge also defines and distinguishes Summerland, his debut album. The album achieved gold status and spawned two multi-platinum singles, earning him two Juno nominations, several MMVA nominations, and a Socan songwriting award. His breakthrough single “2 Heads” went Top 10 at 4 different Canadian radio formats. It is currently 4x Platinum in Canada, Gold in the US, and has exceeded 100 million streams on Spotify. His relentless touring, including runs with Robert DeLong, Twenty One Pilots, and as a mainstay of the summer festival circuit, set the stage for his subsequent hit “Fireproof,” which has itself received gold status.

"I feel like recently I've put it all together and found my real voice," he says. "What I'm aspiring to, I hope is a little different. We all play instruments, but in my live show, for example, it's a lot more modern set-up, including a DJ. The key is the music has to come from great songs. I always want to write, good, honest songs – but deliver them in an unconventional way."
