About

Gabrielle Papillon and Raine Hamilton will share songs in an intimate online offering. The two singer/songwriters - one on the East Coast and the other on the Prairies - had planned a spring tour together that had to be cancelled, but they did not want to miss the opportunity to bring their songs to you. This is an exciting meeting of two experienced artists who are full of stories, beauty and wit.

Gabrielle Papillon (performing as duo with Sean MacGillivray on upright bass and harmonies): Halifax-based musician Gabrielle Papillon is a songwriter first and is following her songs into new territory, having released a new album, Shout, in the fall of 2019 that finds the same voice that audiences love, but widening outside of genre and scope. Her live performance follows suit, with her folk roots expanding into orchestral indie-pop territory.

Raine Hamilton: Resonant, acoustic chamber folk with an otherworldly edge, and a lyric presence that cuts deep. Prism-clear vocals and strings; A combination of vocal agility and power. Raine’s ethereal voice and lyrics are at the forefront of these powerful and relatable tunes, written both in English and in French.
