The Winnipeg Folk Festival is thrilled to announce the Winnipeg Folk Fest at Home live stream presented by Assiniboine Credit Union and Bell MTS will be taking place Saturday, July 11 at 7 PM CST live on Facebook and YouTube. This free interactive online live stream will feature memorable past Main Stage performances including artists such as Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile and City and Colour as well as exclusive new performances by Vance Joy, William Prince, Tash Sultana and much more.

“The cancellation of our festival was heartbreaking for us and so many in our community, so we wanted to create an opportunity to commemorate the festival weekend and celebrate from the comfort and safety of our homes and yards,” said Lynne Skromeda, Executive Director. “It’s also a great chance for those who've never been to the Winnipeg Folk Fest to have a taste of our unique festival experience and virtually transport them to Birds Hill Provincial Park from wherever they may be."

As an interactive component to the live stream, the Winnipeg Folk Festival is encouraging viewers to engage their creativity by hosting their own mini-Folk Fests in their homes, backyards, cottages and campsites this year. There will be plenty of suggestions on the official festival website for décor, food and of course, music!

“We want to encourage festivalgoers to continue to support our broader folk fest community including our food vendors, Hand-Made Village artisans and musicians, who need our patronage in this challenging time, now more than ever,” Skromeda says. More information including contesting elements for prize packages will be announced in the coming weeks and will be available on the Winnipeg Folk Fest website.
