Kris Ulrich writes and sings beautiful and honest Americana in an attempt to understand his own life and in the hope that his songs might help shed a little light on yours too. The stories are straight from the heart, no punches pulled, and because they’re frank and sincere, they feel familiar and relatable. It’s a confident, and even rakish edge in his voice, along with a frighteningly capable handle on the guitar, that makes the delivery of these stories land in a decidedly rustic, and poised landscape, somewhere between familiar alt-country and the new indie-folk vanguard.
