At the West End Cultural Center on June 4, 2006 Cat Jahnke will release her long-awaited debut full-length album None Of Those Things which was graciously funded by Manitoba Film and Sound. Her guests for the evening will be Easily Amused and Dan Frechette as Upside Dan. Tickets are $10 and are available at McNally Robinson, Into The Music, The Folk Festival Music Store and the West End.

And if the past few months are any indication of the potential of this young artist, the event will no doubt be very successful. A multi-talented and ambitious musician, Cat has garnered significant press recently relating both to her status as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for the title track off her upcoming album, and for her win at the 168-Hour Film Festival in LA for Best Original Score against the likes of Carl Rydlund (50 First Dates, Chocolat, Panic Room, and many more). From folk to pop to classical, Cat has many influences and the CD release will be a good opportunity to demonstrate how such diverse stimuli can be juxtaposed seamlessly.

But not only is Cat excited about the swiftly-approaching release of NOTT, but she has looked beyond that date and is finalizing the details for her first Toronto showcase at NXNE on June 10 at the Cameron House.
